What is Skillswitch RC?

Skillswitch RC was created in 2019. The original idea was to make Lexan bodies. But as I was starting out, I was getting an incredible amount of requests for Crawler Hard Bodies. I was curious, so I started making some. Looking back, this quickly got a bit out of control.

3 3d printers turned into 20 printers to keep up with demand. A few designs, turned into hundreds. Before I knew it, everyday was working like crazy to keep up with orders. I was slowly painting myself into a corner that I could not get out of. Something had to change.

Late winter, early Spring 2026, my body told me it was enough. Taking a short break to clear my mind, I decided it was time for an overhaul. I also was able to find my "path" or "direction". I always had a plan but found myself chasing the "requests". So Summer 2026 was spent fine tuning all the bodies. Upgrading equipment and tests to finalize streamlining. The new path was to make Skillswitch RC a base product. A cheap product that customers can make their own. What you see on the website is what is offered. No customization, just what you see offered. With these changes, it allows me to produce products at a much faster rate with much better quality. Something I have been working hard at.

2026 introduces SMFRC GARAGE, my alter-ego if you will. This will be custom work. This is where I will showcase my Skillswitch RC bodies. This is where I will take custom requests on a much smaller scale. This will allow me to give a deeper look into "my view" of all of the products. This will also consist of all RC's not just smaller scale crawlers. I plan to dive into SMFRC GARAGE full in October 2026.

I've made a lot of changes with Skillswitch RC over the years as it evolved. This is the final "stage" it will be as having the time to "fine tune", I've found where I want it to be. Inventory will still grow but everything else will stay the same.

I want to thank everyone for the support over the years and hope everyone understands why I have made the changes and continues to support. I still have a lot of product up my sleave to release and cool things to create. Just one step at a time this "go around", haha!
