What is The RC Car Show?

I think it's been about 5 years ago now that I started the Car Show - Micro RC group on Facebook. Things got a bit busy and just could not keep up with it all. Plus just dealing with social media in itself.

So through the years, I've missed it! I've had thoughts about just doing it again on Facebook but then quickly had the feeling of "NO", haha. What I wanted to do and my computer skills were not in unison. They are now!

So what is it? How does it work? I'll give an overview now.

So it will have weekly, bi-weekly and monthly contests. The weekly contests will be similar to ones you find on social media but will have a wide variety of topics. Different contests will have different layers of "prizes". Exactly what these contests are will be revealed when the site goes live with the changes.

This site will have MEMBERS and non members. If you noted the .org, that mean this site is NON-PROFIT. It is for fun and will be run as a "CLUB" organization. All MEMBERS will have a piece or say in the club and major decisions will be decided by a VOTE. This site was not made for me but for everyone and yes, there will be rules to eliminate "bad actors".

Anyone who goes to the site can VOTE ON CONTESTS by unique IP address, meaning votes won't count by the same person visiting and voting 50 times a day, it will count for ONE VOTE. MEMBERS will be the only ones able to ENTER A CONTEST.

All MEMBERS will be able to create a PROFILE with their own content. Basically a page to show your work. What I'm aiming for is Your Real Name and picture of choice. You can go by a "Nickname" if you want that to be seen by visitors. I would like to eliminate like on Social media.... Someone makes a profile with made up names, they email you from another name etc. If I know your name is Joe, I think of Joe, I don't want to have to think of how many different alias's you have. Let's be simple here.

NOTE: I have zero interest in your information at all. I am looking to prevent a hundred people signing up under fake names to cause trouble in the group.

When I started the ORIGONAL CONTESTS, I loved seeing people come out of nowhere and just blow the competition away! I enjoyed watching others improve as the contests went on. I LOVE seeing people go out of their comfort zone to try something new. I like seeing a group of people boost each other up to achieve a goal. I love seeing people find interests and common ground while trying to out do one another. I'm a sucker for competition!

The new site is well underway and will be completed when SMFRC GARAGE gets it's official launch soon. We have a handful of people that are ready to go with this once the site goes live but we still need more people to help run the site and fill MEMBER POSITIONS - if you are interested, let me know, we can discuss further. There is much more that will be on the site that I don't just yet, want to release before the site is launched but it will be filled with fun!

So it's all being worked on, I just wanted to make a somewhat short kind of description of what this is all about. We hope to see or hear from you soon!
